Bio
Therese Strasser is an award winning composer and music producer for film and art, splitting her time between Berlin and London. A graduate of the Film University Babelsberg Konrad Wolf, she has won prizes at the New York International Film Awards, the Sicily Web Fest, the Virgin Spring Cinefest and the Seoul Web Fest.
Strasser has composed music for a wide range of films, both fiction and documentary, which have been screened at festivals worldwide such as Montreal World Film Festival, Film Festival Max Ophüls Preis, Dok.Fest München, International Festival Of Films On Art Montreal, Fünf Seen Filmfestival, Festival Des Deutschen Films, Florence Queer Festival, Istanbul Independent Film Festival, Chicago International Movie And Music Festival, 100° Berlin Festival, Guadalajara International Film Festival, Achtung Berlin Film Festival, East End Film Festival, Sled Island Music & Arts Festival, Manaus Film Festival, Filmfestival Berlin Lichtenberg, New York City Indie Film Festival and Mica Filmfestival Amazonas.
Her work is regularly featured on Amazon Prime, ARD, ZDF, ORF, MDR, RTL and Joyn+.
Her musical collaborations with contemporary artists have been exhibited at KW Institute for Contemporary Art Berlin, Kunsthalle Bremen, Kunsthalle Baden-Baden, Pergamon Museum Berlin, Berlinische Galerie and Galerie Thomas Schulte.
Strasser has worked with the German Film Orchestra Babelsberg, the string quartet Berlin Strings and the Kontai Ensemble. She is an active member of DKV (German Union of Composers), DEFKOM (German Union of Film Composers), WIFT (Women in Film and Television UK) and AWFC (Alliance for Women Film Composers).
